1907-1939 Prince Albert City Football Club

The Prince Albert City Football Club was formed in 1907. They were provincial champions, winning the Saskatchewan Shield, on seven occasions – 1910, ’13, ’14, ’20, ’25, ’29, ’33 – and were runners-up in 1922, ’23, 34. In 1933, the Prince Albert City Reds became western champions defeating Winnipeg Irish and then Calgary CPR. In the national final they played three games against the Toronto Scottish, losing 2-1 in the final game.

In 1934, the Reds again reached the national final by defeating New Westminster Royals and Winnipeg United Weston for the western championship. In the Canadian final their opponents were Montreal Verdun Park and in another very close three-game contest the Reds lost the national championship by just one goal, by a 2-1 score in the final game.

The Prince Albert City Football Club was installed in the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame on June 11, 1983.

Inducted into the Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.
